The Floating House

Omid Rouhani was appointed to redesign an existing single story home into a modern residence with ample opening and views into the newly design garden and pool. The main brief was to insure that the new home has no resemblance to the existing building yet maintains all the current bathrooms and services so as to minimize the building cost. As a result of a series of systematic deletions and additions we managed to completely conceal its modest origins. We have also managed to create an open plan design that will conform more to the modern lifestyle. This small house also accommodates a roof garden that enjoys the views of Burj Al Arab.
